Fans Go Crazy Over the ‘Kenan & Kel’ Reunion on Saturday Night Live’

On the recent episode of Saturday Night Live, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell revived their legendary Nickelodeon show Kenan & Kel.

Legendary Nickelodeon show Kenan & Kel got the ultimate reboot on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. But it isn’t how you think – the beloved ’90s comedy series was revived as Kenan & Kelly with longtime SNL comedian Kenan Thompson and special guest host Keke Palmer. During the Kenan & Kelly skit, Kel Mitchell from the original Nickelodeon show was humorously killed off after Kelly (Palmer) reveals that she’s “gunning for an Emmy,” providing dramatic antics to the skit.

“The show is not good, but Jordan Peele called us. He wants to do a sequel to ‘Nope,'” Thompson says towards the end of Kenan & Kelly, referencing Palmer’s recent hit film.

After the episode, Mitchell thanked Thompson and Palmer for including him in the skit.

“That was awesome! Such a fun blessed night! Thank you @nbcsnl for letting me come rock with you all!” Mitchell captioned his post. “Amazing cast and crew! Epic night with my bro @kenanthompson and Yo!! @keke you did such an amazing job as host!! You rock Sis!!! Super talented!”

Palmer later responded in an Instagram Story.

“Highlight of my life....You guys have been so influential, in so many ways and especially in comedy. So much of it what I think is good or funny or want to BE is because of you BOTH! Kenan and Kel being from Illinois only made it more real for me as fellow Illinois-er haha. And the fact that Kel’s birthday is just a day before makes me feel like it was just meant to be. But seriously. So grateful to be apart of this reunion.”

Also appearing on SNL with a newly-pregnant Palmer was musical guest SZA, whose long-awaited sophomore album S.O.S. releases on Friday, November 9. During the episode, SZA performed new singles “Shirt” and “Blind.”
