How a Lyft Driver Became The 'Unknowing' Getaway Driver in Nipsey Hussle’s Death

GETAWAY DRIVER TESTIFIES SHE UNKNOWINGLY HELPED NIPSEY HUSSLE'S SUSPECTED KILLER ESCAPE.

The murder trial for Nipsey Hussle’s alleged killer Eric Holder continued in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday (June 20). Several witnesses took the stand, including 35-year-old Bryannita Nicholson. According to Rolling Stone, Nicholson had a casual relationship with Holder, which began just a few weeks before the shooting.

The 35-year-old caretaker and rideshare driver didn’t consider Holder a “boyfriend,” but she said the two had been intimate and hung out “every other day” for weeks, meeting up at the Santa Monica Pier, along the Hollywood Walk of Fame and at a home music studio in Long Beach.

Nicholson said she met Holder while working as a Lyft driver and on the day of Nipsey’s death, he directed her to The Marathon Clothing Store’s parking lot where he talked to the artist about “snitching.”

“Did you say I snitched?” Holder asked Hussle, according to her testimony. “It didn’t sound like he was mad,” she told jurors, describing Holder’s voice as “loud” but not “aggressive.” After posing for a photo with Nipsey, Nicholson and Holder drove around the block. While in the car, he loaded a semi-automatic weapon but put it away once Nicholson told him to.

As they were pulled over eating chili fries, Holder suddenly jumped out of the car and instructed her to wait. That’s when she said she heard several gunshots. When he returned, Nicholson asked, “What happened?” to which he shouted, “Drive!’ [He said] I talk too much. He was like he was going to slap me.”

Nicholson then drove Holder back to Long Beach and didn’t find out Nipsey had been killed until the following day.

Holder’s murder trial got underway on Wednesday (June 15), over three years after Nipsey's death. Holder has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

During the initial hearing, Deputy District Attorney John McKinney alleged Holder gunned down Nipsey in the Crenshaw parking lot, walked over to his bullet-riddled body and kicked him in the head. McKinney then told the jurors Holder said to Nipsey, “You’re through,” to which Nip replied, “You got me.” He later revealed a bullet had actually “transected” Nipsey’s spine, meaning even if he had survived, he would’ve been paralyzed for the rest of his life.

Nipsey was shot and killed on March 31, 2019. He was 33 years old at the time of his death. Holder faces life in prison if convicted.
