Keke Palmer is expanding her empire with a new digital network. On Friday (September 30), the Nope actress released a visual reintroducing herself through Key TV, which aims to include “a new generation of creators.”
“Hi, I’m Lauren Palmer,” says the actress in the video as a double joins her on-screen. “And this is Keke Palmer, the brand I created 20 years ago, all the way back in Illinois with my mom. In those 20 years, I learned how to be a few things.”
The 29-year-old walks viewers through a list of her endeavors, including acting, singing, writing and directing, before landing on her most important role as collaborator.
“I want to share everything I learned with you, because this is my greatest dream of all,” she says towards the video’s end. “All it takes is one of us to unlock a door to unlock a million doors for each other. I’m so excited to introduce you guys to Key TV, where our stories matter and where we are represented as the keys to the culture.”
Although the “Keke Palmer-led company” hasn’t had its official launch just yet, Key TV is present on various platforms including YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Earlier this week, Palmer was given the title of ‘Innovator’ on the TIME100 Next 2022 list, alongside other honorees Jonathan Majors, SZA, FKA Twigs, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and more.
Praising the actress, mentor Queen Latifah wrote, “Keke is the future, and I can’t wait to see the things that she will do as she continues on her journey.”
